This release includes important security updates and a number of significant enhancements to improve your reporting experience. This guide provides an in-depth look at the latest features.
Selecting Favourites
New functionality to tag reports or ad hoc views as favourites, ensuring they are easily accessible from the reporting home page.
Alerts
Alerts can be set up to monitor data. Setting up alerts allows you to receive periodic notifications, with the report attached or linked, based on whether the data in a crosstab or table report meets the specified alert condition and threshold.
Ad Hoc View Cascading Changes
All changes to an ad hoc view can now flow down to any reports based on the view. Previously, only changes related to the sorting, filtering, and re-labelling of columns were passed down to the child report. Now, changes such as adding or removing columns are passed down to the view’s dependent reports.
Ad Hoc View Drill Down
When enabled, the new "Drill Down" feature allows you to navigate from high-level data to more granular details. Simply click on a data point within a chart that includes hierarchical data to access the underlying details.
UI/UX and Security Improvements
- Advanced Date Time Calculation: In Ad Hoc Views, new Date Time functions now enable "Year to Date", "Period to Period", and "Period over Period" calculations.
- The default visualisation format for Ad Hoc Views is now a table instead of a crosstab, which is the most popular report format.
- Upgrade to internal libraries and frameworks to avoid Critical and High CVEs
Known Issues:
New Ad Hov Views:
When creating a new Ad Hoc View, you may encounter issues using the column filtering functionality.
This issue is specific to multi-select or dropdown text and numerical field filter types. The filter types impacted are listed below:
- is one of (impacts text and numerical fields)
- is not one of (impacts text and numerical fields)
- equals (impacts text fields)
- is not equal to (impacts text fields)
Users may experience the behaviours outlined below instead of a full list of selectable/multi-selectable results:
- "Null" option appears as the only available filter
- Slow loading of filter in the filter panel
- Showing a limited subset of the actual list of filter options
While we are actively working on a solution to this issue, you can resolve it by changing the visualisation type from Table to Column and then clicking Cancel. This will reset the filtering and allow you to use the filtering feature as usual.
